It is June!

Well, it’s already the second half of June. Time does fly when you’re having fun. Here’s a quick update on where we’re at:

Carbon Offset

We did our first carbon offset! We bought a 1-tonne CO2 offset through the Gold Standard Foundation. That might not sound like a lot, but everything starts small. To give you a rough idea, 1 tonne of CO2 is roughly the CO2 released for the production of between 250-350 t-shirts. We aim to do double offsets. So if a shirt you purchase takes 7 kg CO2 to produce and ship, we will aim to offset 14 kg of CO2.

Traceability

We are currently working on trace.mymuta.com (nothing’s there yet). The idea is that from the moment you make a purchase, this page will give you an overview of where the garment was produced, under which certified processes (e.g., GOTS, OEKO-TEX, or PETA-approved), what charity was donated to, and how much CO2 was offset due to your purchase. No timeline on this yet—it might be weeks, but more realistically, in the next three months. This will(/should) also work retroactively for past purchases.

We are working hard on our first limited-time collection. These collections will focus on specific topics, charities, and often involve collaborations with external artists. We hope to give you a first glimpse of what’s to come in a few weeks.

Brand guidelines

In the next few weeks, we’ll also be revamping our brand visuals and guidelines. This will create a more consistent look and feel, further enhancing our recognizability. More on this soon!
